Social Media Acceptable Use Policy

Burnside Hospital welcomes contributions reflecting a diverse range of perspectives and experiences.
Two-way communication is welcome on Burnside Hospital social media, but when expressing your views, comments, ideas and insights, please use common courtesy and common sense.


We want to keep discussion as open as possible and will not attempt to exclude critical opinions, but any post must satisfy some basic conditions:

You must not:

  • include personal information such as email addresses and phone numbers
  • impersonate or falsely represent another person
  • be abusive, harass or threaten others
  • post potentially libelous, false or defamatory statements
  • use insulting, provocative or hateful language
  • use obscene or offensive language
  • post material that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
  • post multiple versions of the same view, or make excessive postings on a particular issue
  • include any commercial endorsement, promotion of any product, service or publication
  • post links to email addresses

Make sure your ideas and comments:

  • are respectful of others
  • do not incite hatred on the basis of any personal characteristic such as race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality
  • do not reveal personal details such as private addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact information
  • do not break the law, including libel, condone illegal activity or break copyright
  • are relevant to the subject under discussion

Burnside Hospital reserves the right to delete any posts that breach our guidelines and to suspend the ability to comment at any time.
