Coming in for an operation, procedure or delivery?

On the day of your surgery

On the day of your admission, please report to our main reception (located off of Kensington Road) in accordance with the date and time you have been advised. You will be greeted by one of our friendly staff members who will record your arrival and begin your admission, organise payment etc.

We also kindly ask that you please:

  • Bathe or shower and wash your hair before arrival
  • Do not wear any chemicals, for example perfume, makeup, nail polish, hair spray, body lotion or deodorant
  • Wear loose comfortable clothing and shoes
  • Do not smoke or drink alcohol in the 24 hours prior to your surgery
  • Remove all jewellery, including any body piercings. For patients having upper limb surgery, you must remove all jewellery including wedding bands
  • All nail polish, acrylics and shellac must also be removed before your admission as they interfere with our ability to monitor you effectively during your treatment
  • Take any medications as advised by your treating doctor. If you are usure, please clarify this with your treating doctor or their private rooms ahead of your admission. 
  • Have completed any pre surgery requirements as requested by your treating doctor, for example skin or bowel preparation.

Sleep Centre Patients:

  • Male Patients: The quality of the recording will improve if you shave before you leave home for your study.
  • Bearded Men - You are not required to shave your beard off for the study.
