Supporting Our LGBTQ+ Community

Whether it's mental health support, community organisations, or medical services tailored for gender‑affirming care, this list serves as a valuable tool for patients seeking additional guidance and support throughout their healthcare journey.

At Burnside Hospital, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment — one where every person is welcomed as they are and empowered to thrive. We recognise that members of the LGBTQ+ community may face unique challenges in accessing healthcare, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all patients, families, and visitors feel seen, heard, and valued.

Our approach is guided by compassion, cultural safety, and best-practice care, supported by staff who are trained to understand and respond to the diverse needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. From the moment you enter our hospital, you can expect an environment built on trust, respect, and dignity, where your identity is affirmed and your voice matters.

We are proud to continually improve our services to ensure they are equitable and inclusive, and we work closely with community organisations, advocacy groups, and healthcare specialists to provide resources and support tailored to your needs.

At Burnside Hospital, diversity is celebrated, and inclusion is not just a value — it’s a promise.
