Volunteer Roles
Burnside Hospital volunteers are more than just helpers ‑ they are the heart and soul of our community. Whether they’re welcoming patients, supporting staff, or lending a helping hand in our cafés, our volunteers bring kindness, comfort, and positivity to every corner of the hospital.
Joining our highly valued team of volunteers means:
Flexible and Rewarding Opportunities
Volunteers can choose shifts between Monday and Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm.
How You Can Help:
Patient Services
- Welcome and guide patients and visitors
- Escort patients to appointments or wards
- Deliver flowers and provide comfort to patients
- Assist with patient needs on the wards
Administration Support
- Prepare patient welcome packs
- Help with mail-outs, filing and photocopying
- Support marketing and fundraising initiatives
Café Otto (Burnside Hospital Toorak Gardens)
- Assist in preparing coffee and snacks
- Serve customers with a friendly smile
