Dr Edward Greenrod (MBBS, GDPH, FRANZCO) is a highly experienced Ophthalmic Surgeon, with particular expertise in treatment of cataract and corneal conditions and advanced laser vision correction surgery.
Dr Edward Greenrod grew up in Adelaide and graduated on the Dean’s list from Adelaide University Medical School. He completed Specialist Ophthalmic training in Melbourne followed by further fellowship training interstate and overseas. He is acknowledged by his peers as a technically gifted surgeon, with extensive experience in management of cataracts, corneal transplantation, complex anterior segment surgery and glaucoma surgery.
He is a current corneal consultant surgeon at Flinders Medical Centre. He has been a fellow and visiting specialist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, Addenbrookes’ Hospital, Cambridge, Quinze-Vingts CHNO, Paris and the Emmetropia Mediterranean Eye Clinic. He has additionally been a consultant surgeon for overseas aid projects in both Nepal and East Timor.
Prior to returning to Adelaide in 2016, Dr Greenrod was the director of the Corneal service at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and was a consultant to the Corneal Unit at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. He is currently active in mentoring the next generation of Eye Specialists, providing clinical and career mentorship to young Ophthalmologists as part of the Australian training program. He is a current state councillor for the Australian Medical Association, Head of Unit – Ophthalmology at Flinders Medical Centre, and Medical Director of the Eye Bank of South Australia.
Dr Greenrod practices privately at Adelaide Eye Surgeons. The clinic has grown to become one of the most established and recognised Ophthalmology practices in South Australia, with three convenient locations across Adelaide.
