Dr Aanchal Gupta is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and the World College of Refractive Surgery and Visual Sciences (WCRS&VS), with a special interest in cataract, corneal, and refractive surgery.
Fellowship trained with a highly prestigious fellowship at the University of British Columbia, Canada, she is widely recognised among her peers for her exceptional surgical skills and dedication to advancing patient care.
Among her many achievements, Dr Gupta was the first surgeon in Australia to perform the Allotex corneal inlay for presbyopia correction. She is also the first in South Australia to perform Descemet Stripping Endothelial Keratoplasty (DMEK) and Descemet Stripping Only (DSO) for Fuchs’ endothelial dystrophy; and the first CAIRS and Keraring implantation for the management of keratoconus in the region.
In 2022, she became one of a handful of female surgeons in Australia to establish her own laser vision clinic, IVISION LASER, a boutique facility offering excellence in vision correction. Her passion for cataract and refractive surgery stems from witnessing its immediate and life-changing benefits. Her focus is to provide the unparalleled precision that refractive surgery offers, making it one of the most transformative fields in medicine.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Gupta serves as a RANZCO College Councillor, Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide, the Australian Ambassador for the Refractive Surgery Alliance, and sits on the executive committee of the Australian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (AUSCRS). She is frequently invited to speak at both local and international conferences and has authored multiple scientific papers, contributing to the ongoing advancements in her field.
