Dr Thomas Altree
Respiratory and Sleep Physician
Dr Thomas Altree is a specialist physician in respiratory and sleep disorders. He works at Breathe SA in North Adelaide as well as conducting telehealth consults at the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, where he completed a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine.
Dr Altree plays an active role in the Australian Sleep Association as a representative of specialist doctors in training. He has been honoured by the Lung Foundation Australia for research excellence, and is currently leading clinical trials investigating potential drug treatments for obstructive sleep apnoea, and the effects of medications on sleep and breathlessness in patients with lung disease. He is undertaking a PhD at the Flinders University Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health, and he is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Adelaide University School of Medicine.
Dr Altree is the author of published educational material on sleep disorders for the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners and delivers public talks to community groups on sleep health. His practice encompasses all aspects of respiratory and sleep medicine.
