Dr Sarah Cash

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Sarah Cash is originally from Queensland but was motivated to move to Adelaide for the reputation is holds for training the best Obstetrician’s and Gynaecologists.  After moving here, she has made a home, not only to complete her O&G training, but because the people and surrounds of Adelaide charmed her so much she couldn’t possibly leave.

Sarah has completed training across Adelaide metropolitan hospitals, with a rotation to Darwin and some country work in all sorts of interesting places.

Sarah as a broad depth of training and experience in both Obstetrics including high risk obstetrics and Gynaecology including vaginal surgery and laparoscopic surgery.  She was pivilieged to work with Dr Prabhath Wagarrachchi for advanced laparoscopic skills and has greatly benfited from the mentorship of Dr Graham Hamdorf for vaginal surgical skills.

She will transition to provided Dr Hamdorf’s patients continuity of care after his transition to retirement. A bittersweet privilege for Sarah. When Sarah finds some spare time she enjoys tending to her garden, and keeping her chickens from the vegetable patch.

Sarah is also a skilled obstetrician with experience in all-risk obstetric models.  She has had a privilege of caring for families for the last 10 years at the women's and children's hospital and is now excited to be able to provide care for women and their families at Burnside.  Sarah believes that birth is an enormous privilege and considers it one of her greatest honours to be able to provide continuity, support and care for families on their journey.

She acknowledge's that no two women are the same, and seeks to support and empower women through choice.  Sarah will continue her involvement with provision of care at the Women's and Children's Hospital, so for unexpected complications, can provide continuity of care to women across both sites. 

Sarah has an active involvement in education across many arenas include medical student education, junior doctor and registrar teaching including PROMPT and simulation training as well as teaching for paramedics and air retrieval services. She is available for teaching opportunities.
