Dr Raymond Yu

Orthopaedic Surgeon - Shoulder, Elbow and Wrist

Dr Raymond Yu is an Adelaide Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Norwood who specialises in surgery of the Shoulder and Upper Limb. He has a passion for modern keyhole or minimally-invasive techniques and a keen interest in the management of both sports injuries and arthritis of the shoulder.

Dr Yu was raised and educated in Adelaide, South Australia. He graduated from the University of Adelaide Medical School in 2010, before completing an Honours degree in Medical Science (First Class) and a Masters degree in Surgical Science.

After completing advanced training in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association, he undertook further Shoulder and Elbow subspecialty training at the Sydney Shoulder Research Institute, as well as in France and London with internationally recognised experts.

He practices a philosophy of patient-centred and tailored management, with the goals of relieving his patient’s pain, restoring their function, and returning them back to their previous activities. 

Dr Yu is most passionate about:

  • Keyhole rotator cuff repair
  • Total shoulder replacements utilising Patient Specific Instrumentation (PSI)
  • Keyhole shoulder reconstruction for instability

 

Dr Yu will be operating at Burnside War Memorial Hospital commencing January 2021.
