Dr Jordana Scharnberg

Obstetrician and Gynaecologist

Dr Scharnberg is a specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who is dedicated to the care of families as they plan for and welcome new life. 

Dr Scharnberg graduated from Flinders University of SA in 2004 and undertook her speciality training in SA and NT, completing this in 2017. She has worked at all three tertiary obstetric hospitals in the state, and is currently a staff specialist at Flinders Medical Centre. This enables Dr Scharnberg to provide continuity of care at a tertiary centre if required. As well, she is able to mentor and teach the next generation of medical students, GPs and O&G Specialists.

Dr Scharnberg believes it is truly a privilege to assist someone to become a mother; to support the new family, and to be present at one of the most exciting times in their lives.  She believes in a safe, low intervention approach and supports all women including those normal risk women through to women with more complex health needs. 

Dr Scharnberg has a sub-speciality focus in: Pre-pregnancy counselling and health optimisation, contraceptive and family planning and sub-fertility and miscarriage.  She provides comprehensive care for high-risk obstetrics including the care of twin pregnancies and vaginal birth after caesarean section.  Dr Scharnberg excels at general gynaecology and specialises in the management of: menstrual disorders, ovarian cysts, fibroids and their complications, pre-invasive cervical disease, and the management of abnormal cervical screening.

Dr Scharnberg works in collaboration with two like-minded female colleagues, ensuring you are in safe hands throughout your pregnancy journey.
