Visiting Hours
As of July 2007 Burnside Hospital has adopted liberalised visiting hours during the day to ensure that our patients needs in relation to their personal and care requirements are met.
Patients are encouraged to discuss their preferred visiting arrangements with family and friends (who should come and when) and confirm these with their nurse on admission. Visitors can make a significant contribution on a patient’s recovery.
However, treatment times and the need for rest is also an important consideration so it advisable to check with the patient and / or the ward nurse before visiting.
Visitors are requested to approach the Ward Nurses Station prior to visiting a patient for the first time and to observe signage on room doors.
For security reasons the hospital is secured between the hours of 10pm and 6am each day so visiting during these times must be negotiated with hospital staff and will be granted on a need only basis.
